Much ink has been spilled on discussions of factors behind the vote earlier this summer for the UK to separate from the EU, known as Brexit. To better understand the referendum results, and the voters behind it, we built a visual data application with Arcadia Instant.
In the video below, we’ll show you how you can connect the ballot results with geography, income, and education across the UK, focusing on where voters were coming from in this historic decision. Integration for Map visualizations is available in the next release of Arcadia Instant, out later this month.
- UK Electoral Commission data on the latest referendum at the Local Authority / Area level.
- Geo parameters (long / lat) for the respective areas via Batch Geocoding
Poverty and Income
- UK census data statistics on education, known as “qualifications”
We’ll return to this topic in a subsequent blog post to dig a little deeper into what the data shows.
